Constants and Variables Chapter 15The Variable
"Of all the outcomes you could have gotten..." Rosalind scolded in the empty void of your mind.
You floated in darkness, unaware of your surroundings. The only question in your mind was, “Am I dead?”
"Come off it sister," Robert chimed, "At least she's still alive." The female Lutece huffed again; her voice seemed to draw closer.
“Well that makes one of them.”
“One of…what? What’s going on?” You outstretched your arms and sprawled your fingers as you hopelessly grasped for something. You could feel two sets of eyes watching you.
“Oh. Look who’s waking up. Glad to see you’re still mentally with us.” The male red-head almost laughed, “Looks like you’ll have one more role before the show is over. Play it well. The audience hates a sad ending.”
“What? What’s going on?!” It felt as if your body was being shoved around
Booker DeWitt X Reader pt1“uh, sorry”
You looked over at the man who had bumped into you. He was taller than you, maybe 6’ 1”. He had dark brown hair with a hint of gray on the sides, so you assumed he was a couple of years older than you and you couldn’t help but notice his stunning green eyes. But you realized you were staring.
“No it’s fine” you quickly said and threw in a polite smile. He nodded in return and you went back to looker for… what did those two tell you he was? False Shepard? You were pretty sure that what they had said.
You kept walking around the floating city until some propaganda caught your eye.
The False Shepard and His Whore only seek to lead our lamb astray
“I don’t even know what the guy looks like” you thought to yourself, “But at least I know he’s with some woman. And I’m pretty sure he’s not carry a scythe around and dressed up as death”
You continued to walk do
Stained [Booker DeWitt one-shot?]I sit in silence, hands folded in my lap, biting my lip to keep from crying out. The metallic taste of blood fills my mouth. Did I bite my lip too hard? No. No, that's my nose. I think it's broken. Who knows? But still, I don't make a sound, as tears, burning and blinding, pool in my eyes. My gaze remains straight ahead of me, even as the huge man once again bends down to eye-level, spitting, "Don't cry, you worthless bitch. Talk! Tell us what you know!" His fist connects with my lip. Now it's bleeding.
He pulls his arm back again, about to strike, when a loud bang reverberates through the room. He turns his head just in time to see a fist connect with his face. I might laugh, if the situation weren't so dire. This new man, larger than the last, kneels down on one knee and unties the rope that binds my hands together, then the one for my feet. He doesn't speak a word. I,

Subject to Change
“I raise you fifty.” You declared lowly, dropping the bills on the table and bringing your gaze up to your opponent.
“…I…Ms. (surname) I already owe you enough don’t I?” He gulped.
“Well you should have thought about that before gambling away your life savings Mr. Johnson.” A smile graced your ruby red lips as you laid down your cards, another winning hand, “I expect you pay off that debt by the end of the month. If you don’t…well…I’m sure we can come to an agreement.”
The man shakily rose and left the back room of the bar, you grabbed the wad of cash from the center of the table and counted your earnings, yes this would be enough for rent, groceries, to pay your guard, and perhaps some left over for a treat. This was your life; you were a “Shark”, a debt collector. You lent out cash to gambling addicts, watched them lose it
Booker DeWitt X Reader pt3Eventually (Sadly) Booker put his shirt back on and you stopped blushing like a school girl, the two of you thanked the man and walked in the direction of the second balcony to continue your journey to Monument Island.
“I meant how you learned to kill so effortlessly” Booker said out of context, interrupting your thoughts, “What?” you asked, looking at him for an explanation. “I never finished explaining from before- since we got attacked” Booker clarified.
“Oh yeah… that” you began, not very enthusiastic about the topic. “Well, I kinda had to learn to fend for myself under certain… circumstances and then got” you waved you hand aimlessly “into this thing, and I used my good looks to finish a job, a guy would have taken a week to do, in two days” you finished giving a forced smile.
Booker looked you over again; you definitely didn’t look the type that would be in that
Booker DeWitt x Reader pt9Once inside, you felt a headache coming on; there was that annoying patriotic song playing through the arcade. You frowned as you saw the propaganda of boys being good soldiers; Booker noticed and threw you a worried glance, “Something wrong?” he questioned.
“Look at this place” you said as you descended the few steps that lead to the main area of the arcade that had an over sized animatronic eagle with the flag of Colombia. “Its sole purpose is to attract children, well boys, to be soldier’s for Comstock” you walked past the mechanic Patriot and considered shooting it but thought against it since you weren’t sure if it would trigger an alarm.
Booker thought over your words and found that you had a point, “Brainwash them from the start and they won’t question it” he said solemnly. “This is wrong” Elizabeth mused aloud.
“It’s disgusting” you said and approached a locked door and gave go at lo
Booker DeWitt X Reader pt4(I forgot the scene after the attack the group of people and before the guy getting mauled, about going through a library and into an elevator… sorry)
After Booker ate some sandwiches and chips he found on the corpses the two of you left the facility of the racist crow people and got to another path witch was a lot brighter than the way you came in. But your disgust of Booker eating food out of trash can soon passed when the familiar voice of the gunship was heard again.
“The False Shepard, this anarchist is either a mutated dwarf or a French man with a missing left eye. No more than four foot and nine inches” then it stopped again.
“What?” you said sounding very confused with the information that was just given, Booker just shrugged not really understanding the information either. But then he turned his head gestured for you to look, “Bet we can get to Monument Island from that station” you nodded and scanned the area and saw som
